Please look at the globe. In case of the movie named "Independence Day", UFOs come over and attack the capital cities of each nation first and directly, but this time they won't come to conquer the earth.

As it is nothing but the destruction and slaughtering, they will start attacking the cities near by. They will start attacking from the South Pole or the North Pole. If they start from the South Pole, they can find less cities, which means it is not effective.

They will naturally start the attack from the North Pole. UFOs are expected to gather over the North Pole at first, keep attacking as they go down to the south, gather over the South Pole and return to the moon.
